Dear,
I have to model on Homer Pro a thermal load supplied only by a CHP and 2 heat pumps. Modelig a thermal load, Homer requires a Boiler, that is not present in my design.
The CHP is used also in an electric load (with PV, Electrolyzer-Fuel Cell and BESS) that power the heat pumps. My trouble are:
-How can I set an heat pump on Homer Pro? The size is 8 kW with a COP=4
-How can I remove the Boiler ?
Thank you very much!
Best regards
Federico
Hello DiMatteo,
1) To model a heat pump in HOMER, you need to figure out the electric load of the heat pump and add it to the primary electric load, or specify it as the second primary load. HOMER won't explicitly model the heat pump itself.
2) Boiler is a mandatory component if you want to model a thermal load in HOMER Pro. You can eliminate the use of Boiler by sizing the CHP appropriately so that the Boiler is not part of the equation for economical calculations.
