New HOMER

Hi, i'd be glad if someone helped me cause I've hit a wall in my project 🙂

I am having trouble calculating how much power would 100W road lamp take throughout 12 months. To do this I need a 'load' profile which is accurate to road lighting but there seems to only be community, industrial etc. Am I able to make my own profile? It should start counting power when the lights are on from e.g 5pm to 7am. To do this precisely it needs information about each month average night duration. Does homer have this kind of information? I am sorry if it looks confusing. Thank you

Hi Greg,

If you want to model just a lighting load, you can model it as a constant load with specific hours of operation. For example, it will be a constant 100kW from 5PM to 7AM  and 0kW during the rest of the day. You can then copy this for all days of the year and import it into HOMER Pro.

Best,
