Grid purchase capacity
I wanted to know if the grid purchase capacity was the power definition for an hour or whether it limits the capacity to minute level? My load is a time series with the power changing per minute. I want to limit the grid purchase power to 7.2kW. However I am not able to see if this is carried out per minute, or HOMER Pro averages it out for the hour. I have this confusion because HOMER Pro averages my minute-wise load to an hourly average.
I hope you can help me with this. Thank you.
The purchase capacity is either annual or monthly. Unlike other resources, grid is generally assumed to have a large capacity when available. If you have other sources of energy like a diesel generator or solar PV, you can limit the load from purchasing from the grid by introducing high demand rates, so that other sources will be cheaper.
Adding a purchase capacity optimization value will limit the maximum grid import to that value within any time step.
