Forcing a conventional base case
I’ve got a question about establishing a specific base case. I’m modelling a site that has multiple diesel gensets, a PV generator, a battery, inverter and controller. I’m using the Homer optimiser and the results look reasonable.
However… I cannot seem to get it to run a ‘base case’ that is based on just the diesels (e.g. no PV or battery). In principle, it should be a non-trivial solution because there are different sizes of diesels and the load fluctuates so the controller could meet the load by just dispatching the diesels.
I’m obviously missing something - anyone have any tips?
To get all the diesel gensets in the base case, select the option to include the generators in all simulations. If you have difficulty in finding it even after choosing that option, make sure you checked under overall results under optimization results window.
